Bourgogne Aligoté is the”other” white grape grown in Burgundy alongside its more fashionable sibling, Chardonnay. This wine is light, crisp and refreshing with delicate floral and citrus aromatics and packed with flavours of lemon, apple and pear finishing with a decent length.
Wines made from this grape are traditionally the base for Kir (you can find the history and recipe here), however this version needs no such embellishment.
Enjoy it on its own as an aperitif with salty snacks or with a summery dish such as Nigella’s Ultimate Greek Salad
